In a world increasingly focused on the concept of sustainability, The Grange Institution (TGI) is proud to share our official partnership with UNESCO’s World Engineering Day (WED) for Sustainable Development 2025, themed ‘Shaping a Sustainable Future Through Engineering’.
This global initiative, organised in collaboration with the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WEFO), highlights the critical role of engineering in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. The Grange being selected as a global partner on this project emphasises the importance of engineering amongst young learners in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

From Humble Beginnings to Global Recognition
The Grange Institution’s journey began in 2018 as a small school with a big vision: to nurture future-ready learners who not only excel academically, but also socially responsible and environmentally conscious. Over the years, our dedication to holistic education and sustainable practices has earned us multiple recognitions within Singapore. Being invited as one of only three schools worldwide to become a WED 2025 global partner is a milestone that reflects our growth and impact as a school.
Green Granger: Championing Education for Sustainable Development
At the heart of The Grange Institution’s sustainability efforts is the Green Granger – our school-based curriculum that supports Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Green Granger embodies our belief that education is the most powerful tool to drive positive change. Our green school gardens and farm spaces are not just places where plants grow, they are classrooms where students develop a deep connection to the earth, learn about food security and gain skills to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. By empowering children to care for plants and learn where their food comes from, we are planting the seeds today to inspire them to be future leaders in sustainability, agriculture and innovation tomorrow.

The Grange’s commitment to sustainability is also extended beyond our school grounds. We actively engage in initiatives that align with the UN’s SDGs. Our students participate in projects that address real-world issues, such as global reforestation efforts, and improving water sanitisation in a rural village in Cambodia. These experiences not only deepen their understanding of sustainability but also inspire them to become change-makers in their own right.
A Call to Action for a Sustainable Future
