Cre8tors Camp
Day 1 (9:00am – 1:00pm)
Participants will be led through a nature-inspired activity to explore their sources of inspiration for their designs. Participants will not only be guided in the designing process but also in developing an open-mind to a diverse range of art forms and textiles. It combines both the act of creating (design) and the act of understanding and valuing (appreciation) artistic and textile-fiber based works. Participants will create and develop a deeper understanding of design principles, profound and inquisitive art-thinking, and appreciation for fabrication and their technical properties.
Day 2 (9:00am – 1:00pm)
Participants will receive guidance on fashion design, sewing techniques, and pattern-making instruction throughout the workshop. They will learn essential skills such as fabric selection, garment construction techniques, fitting principles, and finishing details. All of which will cultivate an expressive voice unique to one’s own aesthetic. The process will include hands-on practice sessions where participants will create their own designs under the supervision of experienced instructor.
Day 3 (9:00am – 1:00pm)
Participants will finalize their creations and apply finishing touches. They will be introduced to fashion clothing production procedures, and be involved in the glamour of stage shows. Further preparations will be made for the charity runway showcase at Gardens by the Bay scheduled on 29 September 2024.
